The City never signed a trail maintenance contract with the City of Alum Rock. They have a trail maintenance form, that is required to be signed by the trail maintainer, but the City never signed it.
I am working with the City of Alum Rock's trail maintenance crew to make the trails at Alum Rock Park healthier again. We are concerned that since so many users use the trails for recreational purposes, the City is using up the park’s natural resources, like brush and undergrowth.
We have been seeing a lot of activity around the park lately. Maybe we could interview some of the park users for some answers. I hate to be the one to announce this, but we have been informed by the City of Alum Rock that their trail maintenance crew just started work on our very own pseudo trails. We are working on getting the City to stop this on-going trail (de)maintenance.
The Lake, a natural wetland in Alum Rock Park, is one of the most popular recreation areas in Alum Rock. Home to coyotes, woodpeckers, warblers, and kiwis, the Lake has been designated as a California Regional Birding hotspot. The Lake is the second-largest wetland in San Jose. The City of Alum Rock recently completed the Trail Bikeway from the Alder Creek Bike Path, which traverses the entire length of the park. The Bike Path connects the Lake to the “Beach”, a network of bike trails that runs through the park. An additional three miles of bike trails were recently completed, including the longest paved bike trail in Santa Clara County. This will provide even more access for the thousands of users the park sees each year.
Manny and I snuck into the back of the park one night and placed a garbage can filled with water near the very end of the trails on the side of a mountain. It was dark and we would have been caught red-handed if the City had been looking. You would think they would have let nature take its course. But no, the City of Alum Rock, has been forced to clear the Park of natural brush and undergrowth under the guise of “natural resource management.”
We will now make a copy of the installation media file so that we can follow its installation, should the need arise. Copy the filename you downloaded to the computer somewhere, e.g. the Desktop, and call the copied file e.g. 'SAPGUI_7.70_Client_Installer_Win32.exe'. We will also save the original file to a folder somewhere so that we can easily download it again (to avoid having to download the same file again, if we need the media again).
