It’s hard to see where to start with The Last Hope. It’s a shame that we have to start with the game’s most obvious problem, because if the game itself were good, the package as a whole would have been rather fantastic.
There’s nothing new here, and that’s a problem. Devolver does alright, but they’ve been doing this for a while now and it’s starting to seem like a formula. It’s a direct sequel to the first two games in the Serious Sam series. There’s also a cutely satirical film trailer . It’s fairly brief and funny, but it’s like a fish trying to swallow a boat. They get the point, but it’s just so dumb they can’t help making themselves look dumb.
