The Elsa Castillo Story Ang Katotohanan

Elsa was just like any other young woman, young at heart with a future ahead. She was born on February 12 1931 in Iloilo City, in a small room of a building with seven other babies of the same mother. Her mother, Risa was a simple housewife in Capiz. It was on a warm Sunday of October 1942 when Elsa went to the Catholic church to light the candles as she was best prepared for the big family thing. Elsa was already a young lady and was not exactly comfortable lighting the candles yet. She dreaded the task considering that there were only five and she was the eldest. Elsa tried to light the tapers so they would burn at least until she finished. Elsa slow and steady and she lit them. Elsa was totally amazed when the tapers blew out and lit the middle of the church. Elsa gave a gasp when she saw one taper has burnt out and another taper as it started to burn. Elsa was afraid the priest would be angry at her. She thought how could it get to happen. Just then, a wall of flame illuminated the whole church. The fire seemed to come and go. Elsa felt scared but brave enough to continue lighting the candles. She was not sure what she was doing when the whole church erupted in a thunderous fury. The whole church had caught fire and someone shouted that it was the devil's handiwork. Elsa tried to run but tripped on her dress and fell hard on the cold stone floor. She was trapped and cried for help and then she got up because she thought someone has to help her because she was trapped. She heard one big voice shouted something, but she did not know what it was at first until he shouted out "save me". Elsa claimed to be saved by the dark-skinned man but then the man just disappeared leaving Elsa to die in the now blazing inferno. From then on, it was Elsa's dream..."
